Restaurant Review: Tacos and Tequila (Palace Station)

TACOS AND TEQUILA (PALACE STATION)

We had no plans whatsoever to eat Mexican food for lunch yesterday, but when we saw the sign out in front — “2 lunches, 1 appetizer for $30” and “2 for 1 margarita special” — well, they had me at “get your ass in here.”

A surprising discovery: Tacos and Tequila used to be inside the main atrium at the Luxor, until the corporate fun killers raised the lease so high that only the big chains can compete, and so after disappearing from the Las Vegas landscape for a couple of years, they found a new home inside Palace Station, which has undergone a major renovation. We used to enjoy the old Luxor location many years ago, so this was an instant “table for two” change of plans.  T&T deserves far more love, and more customers. I hope spreading the word might help.

Let me address all the sports gambling experts out there.

Your “analysis” is pretty much worthless unless you also tell us WHY you like a pick.  It’s that simple.

I want to hear your REASONING. I need to know if you UNDERSTAND what you’re talking about. I must hear IN YOUR OWN WORDS what compels you to make a pick. If your analysis is solid, then it has value to an audience.

Otherwise, your pick is a waste of time.

A.K.A. CHANGING THE HABITS OF A LIFETIME

Random thoughts for Thursday, 5 April 2023.

“Some things had been a lifetime habit, things I engaged in for 50 years. Enthusiastically so. Now, they’re inconsequential memories of a bygone era.”

The Most Boring Man in America

I’ve received several messages lately asking why I’m not writing about the Trump indictment. That’s a fair question, especially given that I’ve written and posted extensively over the past seven years on the overflowing toilet that is everything connected to Trump.

Trump was, is, always has been, and always will be–an overflowing toilet. Disgusting and horrible, and yet we couldn’t peel our eyes away, and we certainly couldn’t ignore the horror.

Until now.
