Why Changing Your Mind is Good
TRIMBACH PINOT BLANC ($15)
For me, given my admitted wine biases, almost anything that comes from Alsace, Loire, or Rhone is an automatic “buy and try.”
By “buy and try” what’s meant is — I’m not sure if this will suit my taste but the chances are damned good. Bet the “yes.”

THE TOM BRADY ROAST
I just finished watching the Tom Brady roast on Netflix. It’s packed with celebrities, comedians, and athletes. Surprisingly, it’s also generated a bit of controversy. Perhaps this shouldn’t be surprising at all given the times we live in.

This is the ugliest fucking car I’ve ever seen. And that’s saying a lot.
Ford Edsel. AMC Pacer. Tesla Box Turd.
Wow. What disconnected, delusional multi-billionaire green-lighted this monstrosity?
Wait, we all know the answer.

A QUESTION ABOUT CAMERAS INSIDE THE COURTROOM
As many of you know, it’s up to the states as to whether or not cameras are allowed inside the courtroom. Some states allow trials to be broadcast live (think of the O.J. Simpson trial in California). Other states ban all cameras in courts of law, thus creating a secondary market of coverage in trials of interest to the public, which obviously isn’t nearly as transparent.

Few sporting events are more exciting than NHL playoff hockey.
Mother and I went to the playoff game, which ironically featured Dallas playing versus Las Vegas. We decided to go all out with opposite team jerseys.
Than fans around us were great.
Terrific seats, and a great game won by Dallas, which eliminated the defending Stanley Cup champion Golden Knights to advance to Round 2 of the playoffs.

S&D Oyster Company (Restaurant Review)
This is my mother’s favorite restaurant. We go to S&D Oyster Co. each time I visit. It’s a carbon copy of the best New Orleans cuisine, and certainly the best I’ve tasted anywhere outside of Louisiana. If you visit, be sure and ask for the outdoor patio garden seating in the rear. Crowded in evenings which is why lunch is recommended.
A little bit of trivia: Actor Owen Wilson used to wait tables here.
Today’s brunch:
1. Six Oysters in the half shell with Tabasco and horseradish, each on a Saltine Cracker.
2. Cup of Creole Gumbo.
3. French bread, real butter.
4. Finely-chopped Cole Slaw with Cayenne pepper.
5. Hand-cut French Fries.
6. Rainbow Trout perfectly fried in delicious corn meal. 2 hush puppies. (homemade tartar on the side)
7. Two Rum Runners.
I’m not sure what Mother ordered. My face has been buried in food for the last 45 minutes.
10/10
Though I have no regard for religion or the Catholic Church today, I don’t run away from my part connections and memories. On this trip, I returned to the first school I attended in Dallas.
