March Madness: Is the “Connecticut Parlay” a Smart Bet at 79-1?

RECOMMENDATION: PATISSERIE MANON BAKERY / DELI (ON WEST CHARLESTON)
Patisserie Manon (bakery) opened in 2010 on W. Charleston, in a strip mall directly behind the Fleming’s Steakhouse. We’ve been here many times. However, I’d forgotten what a great value their dine-in lunch specials are — which are always fresh and delicious.
Note: This Manon location is not to be confused with *Manan Bakery* on W. Flamingo, which is an Armenian-run place (also pretty good).

I hate seeing restaurants close down. This is especially true for individually-owned smaller mom-and-pop restaurants.

The Gentlemen is the best show I’ve watched on Netflix this year.
The eight-part series (one hour per episode) reveals writer-director Guy Ritchie at the very pinnacle of his storytelling and cinematic craftsmanship. VEGAS: THE STORY OF SIN CITY (EP 3)
Episode 3 of the quasi-History of Las Vegas documentary aired last night on CNN.

RELIGION RIDICULOUSITY #3
This neighborhood sucks.
The “Holy Bible” is packed with spite, revenge, violence, death, genocide, and even eternal torture. Bible scriptures include justifications for slavery, sexism, discrimination, and war. The Bible would be a horrible book to follow based these inconvenient truths alone.

DID YOUR HIGH SCHOOL HAVE A “SMOKING AREA?”
I may not like it, but I’m a product of the 1970s. More like–a victim of the 70s. Horrendous fashions. Musical nihilism. Bad hair. Flawed politicians. Astroturf.
Indeed, I grew up in the dead center sweet spot of the “me” decade.
