Say Hello to My New Little Friend….Hendrick’s Gin

hendricks_gin

I’d like you to meet a new friend of mine.

The name is Hendrick’s.

Chances are, you don’t know Hendrick’s.  Not yet anyway.  Before tonight, I had never met Hendrick’s either.  But now, I think we’ll be friends for life.

Oh, Hendrick’s has a last name too, which is Gin.

So, the full name is Hendricks Gin.  Comes from Scotland.

This is the best gin I’ve ever tasted, and I’ve tasted more than a few.  A very unique flavor and distinct character.  I’m not certain how many bars and restaurants have Hendrick’s in stock, but if you enjoy an occasional gin, then give this a try.

Also, thanks to my partner this evening in my new discovery, Itai Pazner from Israel, for a great time and a marvelous introduction that I’d like to share with readers.

Cheers!

  1. About ten years ago, I was working at a startup with someone that I’d worked for in the past. Over the years, he and I developed the habit of bringing each other interesting things that we’d discovered. These were typically bittersweet artisan chocolates, but other flavors showed up as well.

One day I came into work and found a bottle of gin sitting on my desk. I was puzzled for a few minutes, but I started reading the label. When I got to the cucumber and rosewater part, I knew exactly where the bottle had come from, and I knew that I was in for a treat. Hendricks instantly became my go-to general purpose gin.

In the last year or two I’ve started exploring specialty gins. I currently have a bottle of barrel-aged Blade gin, two different single-batch specialty gins from St. George’s, and an Islay gin from Bruichladdich called The Botanist. Of all of them, my favorite is Faultline batch #2, but all of them are interesting and unique in their own way.

  2. I’m not sure if you’re intentionally being a dumbfuck or if that’s genuine. In the event that it’s genuine, please see if you can still find the intelligent version of yourself and scrape it off the inside of your mother’s thigh. Hendrick’s is incredible. And no, you don’t need to cut it at all. It’s delicious right out of the bottle too, tough guy.

  3. Hendricks is also a friend of mine! 😉 Seriously: I think it’s one of the best gins in the world – not the cheapest but probably the best tasting one. I’ve made a huge infographic “the story of hendricks” gin and posted it on my German blog. I was wondering, if this could be some interesting stuff for your readers too: http://cocktail-glaeser.de/spirituosen/gin/hendricks-gin-70cl-flasche/

    Kind regards from Germany.
