A Mother’s Day Worth Remembering

You’ve probably never heard of Anna Jarvis.

She created the holiday we celebrate today, known as Mother’s Day.  This occasion was first recognized in 1914 when President Woodrow Wilson signed a federal proclamation making the holiday official.  Today marks the 100th anniversary of the very first Mother’s Day.

Why Do Restaurants Jerk Around with Good Old-Fashioned Cornbread?

How difficult is it to make cornbread?

Here’s the basic recipe.  Take cornmeal mix.  Add in a few eggs.  Pour in some milk.  Mix and then fold into a buttered pan.  Bake for about half an hour.  And serve.

Here’s the latest on the Dewey Tomko controversy.

Following multiple telephone conversations and e-mail exchanges I had with several key people on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, I have come closer to a viable explanation as to what really took place regarding Mr. Tomko’s (alleged) involvement with the controversial editorial which appeared in The Press of Atlantic City (newspaper and website), which was subsequently re-reported by other media.
