Poker Cheater Nabbed by New Jersey Authorities

Kudos to the Borgata Casino, New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, and the State Police of New Jersey for taking the matter of poker cheating seriously.

It appears they finally caught the cheating scumbag.

The thief who screwed over the Borgata Casino and disrupted the spirit of competition for thousands of his fellow poker players, including all those who entered the first event of this year’s Winter Poker Open, has been apprehended by law enforcement.

The scumbag’s name is Christian Lusardi.  According to a late-breaking report released this afternoon by The Press of Atlantic City, the accused man is 42-years-old and resides in Fayetteville, NC.  He was also the tournament chip leader entering Day Two, according to the source.  Lusardi was also busted in North Carolina previously, for his involvement in running an illegal poker game.

If true, Lusardi must not only be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, he must be banned from all future poker events.  Let’s make sure that every casino in the world knows this name and face.  He should never be allowed to play in any poker event of any kind again.  No doubt, a loud and clear message needs to be sent that cheating will not be tolerated, not just in New Jersey where this incident took place, but everywhere.

Lusardi’s day in court will come.  Then and there, he will have the opportunity to defend himself.  If found guilty, he may also have the chance to provide important information as to how he committed his crimes and who may have helped him pull off the heist.  We should pay close attention to this case because it must serve as not only a call to justice but a strong deterrent to anyone else even thinking of pulling a cheating scam.

Hats off to the Borgata Casino, New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, and the State Police of New Jersey for taking this matter seriously.
