The Waiting Game is Over: Full Tilt Poker Accounts to be Refunded

Full-Tilt-Poker

On Full Tilt Poker:  Let’s not forget.  We must remember those persons who did terrible harm to our game and abused our trust, those familiar names who caused so much misery and inconvenienced so many poker players all over the world.

I wondered if and when this day would come.

Like thousands of former and current online poker players, my money was tied up at the old Full Tilt Poker website.  That money I deposited in good faith was mismanaged, lost, and ultimately recompensated.

Today, I received the following e-mail regarding the balance of that account which was stuck on Full Tilt Poker on so-called “Black Friday,” nearly three years ago.  Come to find out, just about everyone who is owed money is receiving the same e-mail, which reads as follows:

Dear Nolan Dalla:

The purpose of this email is to inform you that your Petition for Remission has been approved and you are entitled to receive a distribution from the assets forfeited in connection with the United States v. PokerStars, et al., pending in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

A payment in the amount of $XXXX.XX will be paid electronically via ACH to the bank account that you specified in your Petition.  This payment represents the full amount of your Full Tilt Poker Account Balance, which you confirmed on the Full Tilt Poker administration online filing site.  Payment will be made within the next seven business days.

If you have any questions, you can call us toll-free at (866) 250-2640, email us at info@FullTiltPokerClaims.com, or write to us at Full Tilt Poker Claims Administration, c/o GCG, P.O. Box 9965, Dublin, Ohio 43017-5965.  For additional information, you may also visit the administration website at www.FullTiltPokerClaims.com.

So, there it is.  The waiting game ends.

Meanwhile, let’s not forget.  We must remember those persons who did terrible harm to our game and abused our trust, those familiar names who caused so much misery and inconvenienced so many poker players all over the world.

At the same time, let us rejoice in this positive news that what has arguably been poker’s most scandalous embarrassment may finally be coming to an end.

  1. Is it over? Will the palpable anger I’ve felt at the tables at the WSOP finally be gone or is it too late for redemption? What will this mean for attendance at the WSOP? This surely means an influx of capital into what has been a depressed poker economy. Will this help? Or is it too late to make a difference? Or is what we have now the new normal?
