Trusting a Treasonous Traitor

Here’s the latest poll asking “who do you trust?”
These percentages reveal Trumpsters to be so hopelessly DERANGED and thoroughly BRAINWASHED that they believe HIM even more than their own family and friends when it comes to “telling the truth.”
Just wow.
What astonishing ignorance!
Despite THOUSANDS of documented lies — before, during, and after his malady of a presidency — they STILL willingly guzzle the acidic Kool Aid and believe ANYTHING he says.
Fact: This is a CULT.

Note: Some *good* news in this poll is that even the Trump cult doesn’t trust religious figures anymore. Trust in religion continues to plummet. Still, it’s astonishing that Trump is polling 29 points higher than preachers and priests, even among the brainwashed.

I did some research, including questions to reddit’s Statistics and AskStatistics boards, another on Quora and a twitter (sorry, I mean “X” 😐) reachout to the author of the graphic.
Here’s the consensus I found.
In question 13 of the overall poll, “Of the candidates you are considering, or might consider, if the 2024 Republican primary or caucus in your state were held today, which ONE of those candidates would you vote for?” 62% of respondents said “Donald Trump.”
The graphic in question says “Among Trump Voters,” clearly a subset, and almost certainly that 62% subset of that population.
Questions 39B, C, D & G – which generate the data in question by you, were asked of 535 people, all “likely Republican primary voters,” and generated the following data: Trump 0.53 Your Friends & Family 0.58 Conservative Media Figures 0.5 Religious Leaders 0.44
So the graphic’s numbers, applicable to the subset of “Likely Trump Voters,” are 17% higher for trusting Trump, 5% lower for Friends and Family, 6% lower for Conservative Media Figures, and 2% lower for Religious leaders.
If the questions were asked *only* of that 62% who would vote for Trump today, do you really think those deltas are out of line? The notable changes being lots more dopes thinking trump is honest, and a few with friends and family telling them they’re messed in the head. After Fox News lost half a billion dollars and is forced to be (a little) more truthful, it’s reasonable to think those disciples trust “conservative media figures” a little less, too.
In support of this thesis, the higher margin of error on the graphic indicates a lower sample size than Q39A-F.
The graphic was made at the direction of Anthony Salvanto, who wrote the article in which they first appeared. He is the Executive Director of Elections and Surveys at CBS News for over 20 years, and a member of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR).
Since the methodology was clearly to compile answers to Q39 B,C,D & G from those who answered “Trump” in question 13, I cannot believe that a professional with those bona fides would engage in pure fabrication and still have built a career of that longevity. I have reached out to him on Twitter for confirmation, but I don’t expect him to respond.
So. The numbers make sense and the source is credible.
NOLAN REPLIES:
Thanks for sharing all this, Pete. I didn’t know if the survey was idea l given the margin of error, but what little I remember from taking survey methodology 30 years ago, the assumptions made from the data seem compelling regardless. I’m grateful for the time you invested to give more clarity.
