I watched last night’s 2022 Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which was shown on HBO (it actually happened back on Nov. 5th). It’s been many years since I’ve watched a program like this all the way through (three hours). Here are some takeaways:
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi just announced she’s stepping down as (majority/minority) leader, effective at the end of the current session of Congress. This is a wise decision with profound implications going forward. It’s a game-changer.
“They keep pulling me back in. Just when I thought we were out, they keep pulling me back in.”
Here are my thoughts on video which includes my reaction to Donald Trump’s official announcement yesterday that he shall seek the presidency in the 2024 election.
My three words to describe Trump running are: Disgust, Joy, and Sadness
Most readers know how much I despise memes, and here’s the perfect example of stupidity.
Yeah, I understand it’s meant as a joke. Ha fucking ha. But there’s an undercurrent of grotesque *ignorance* here that’s just jaw-dropping. See all that horrible snow? Gee, it sucks to be them, huh?
Cryptocurrencies are ruining lives. It’s time to call out all the rug pullers, Ponzi punks, ransomware criminals, tax evaders, and slugs who promote this toxic garbage.
HEY, CRYPTO SLINGERS!
1. You invested real money.
2. You bought play money.
3. You dove into an unregulated market.
4. You rejected oversight.
5. You laughed at fiat currencies.
6. You trusted a bunch of slimeballs.
7. You invested with scumbags.
8. You laughed at centuries of proven monetary tradition.
9. You willingly boosted worthless assets constructed entirely upon the “greater fool theory.”
Thirty years ago, Marieta and I stayed in Holland for a few months. Her brother lived in Eindhoven, a Dutch city near the border with Belgium and Germany. We took these photos in Nov. 1992.
Those were great days and even better nights. When I think back on those moments, that might have been the happiest time of my life. Well, except for one other moment.
As to my happiest time, my hope is — I still haven’t lived it yet.
Isn’t that a joy to anticipate? Let’s all hope tomorrow is a better day than today and yesterday. And if tomorrow turns out to be something better than where we are now, then that’s something to celebrate.
