On the Attack: Biden Administration Going After Ticketmaster/Live Nation
THANKS, PRESIDENT BIDEN !
I don’t think the American public realizes what a positive force the BIDEN ADMINISTRATION has been for consumers.
Today, the BIDEN ADMINISTRATION filed an anti-trust lawsuit intended to break apart the monopoly of concert ticket buying. The scumbag powerhouse company known as Ticketmaster/Live Nation has been screwing over the American public for years. What they’ve been doing to inflate ticket prices and suffocate the market is CRIMINAL (Note that other countries with stronger government regulations DO NOT allow these practices). Live Nation has clearly broken laws and strangles the live concert market. Ultimately it’s we the public who gets fucked over.
Anyone who has bought a ticket to a concert in the last decade knows this to be fact.
Indeed, THIS SHOULD BE THE MISSION OF GOVERNMENT, to intervene and be the PEOPLES’ ADVOCATE. Otherwise, giant companies like Live Nation will hoard everything. They screw consumers with outlandish fees at every opportunity. They do everything in their immense power to control live entertainment, including contracts, bookings, and ticket sales — including ruining competitors (which they’ve done).
This is just one positive step of many for consumers from the BIDEN ADMINISTRATION. Here are a few more:
– Already, we have seen the BIDEN ADMINISTRATION sign a law to cap the prices of insulin. Before the law was signed, big pharma was charging American ten times what consumers were paying in other countries for the same products.
– Already, we have seen the BIDEN ADMINISTRATION sign a law to hold major airlines making record profits accountable and make them pay passengers when they make mistakes and cause unnecessary delays.
– Already, we have seen the BIDEN ADMINISTRATION sign a law to force banks and credit card companies to disclose fees and charges and help consumers understand how financial institutions are keeping tens of millions in perpetual debt.
Now, the BIDEN ADMINISTRATION is going after a sector of the economy that’s important to millions of people, trying to make live entertainment more competitive. If you don’t believe there’s a serious problem with concerts, take a look at all the hidden fees you get charged when buying tickets — and there are no alternatives. That’s a “monopoly.”
Trump and Republicans worship big business. No amount of profits are enough and the 1 percent always wants more. They strictly oppose government trying to help working-class people and protect consumers. They enable monopolies to control markets, and block any attempt to balance the economic playing field.
Thanks to the BIDEN ADMINISTRATION for going after the scumbags who have created a cesspool when it comes to live concerts and entertainment in the United States. It’s time to clean up this mess.
