My Facebook Exchange with Billy Tauzin, the Slimy Lobbyist for Big Pharma
When you think of “the swamp” in Washington D.C., picture Billy Tauzin.
He’s the poster boy of slime.
Just what you’d expect from a politician from Louisiana. Billy is the former Louisiana congresscritter who spent much of his career blocking consumer protections and working on behalf of huge corporations at the expense of working-class Americans. His dirty deeds were so devious that he didn’t even try to hide his obvious political grift and money grab. The moment he retired as a member of Congress (from Lousiana’s 3rd District), Tauzin took a plum sweet job as the CEO for a Big Pharma lobbying group.
Tauzin’s salary at one point reached $11.6 million a year.
Gee, thanks, Billy. Thanks for giving Americans THE HIGHEST DRUG PRICES IN THE WORLD.
Big pharma got what they paid for — just another slimy politician.

When you think of a sick political system and twisted politicians, it doesn’t get much more corrupt than Billy’s story. He was the chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee and then took an $11.6 million job working on behalf of those interests. It’s all there in black and white. It’s dirty politics at its worst.
“Two months before resigning as chair of the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce, which oversees the drug industry, Tauzin had played a key role in shepherding through Congress the Medicare Prescription Drug Bill. Democrats said that the bill was “a give-away to the drugmakers” because it prohibited the government from negotiating lower drug prices and bans the importation of identical, cheaper, drugs from Canada and elsewhere.” (LINK HERE)
Yesterday, I noticed Billy on Facebook doing what he does best — lying. He was lying about the cause of gas prices. Tauzin tried to blame The Green New Deal in his posts, which sadly were resonating with some followers. Trouble is — The Green New Deal was never passed by Congress. It’s been proposed twice, but it’s never passed. Billy lied.
Next, Billy doubled down on his lies and attempted to lay the blame on the pipeline being suspended (which had absolutely nothing to do with rising gas prices). Billy might have been a slimy congressman at one time and could twist political arms to get his way, but in a Facebook debate, he’s hopelessly out of his league. Being attacked by Billy Tauzin is a badge of honor. Oh, and I’m the “Nevada idiot.”

Here’s where Billy calls in the reinforcements. Trumpet the deplorables! Someone on his page, still presumably living in the year 1947, called me a “communist.” Note that Billy fails to address his own shady background and instead latches on to something listed in my Facebook profile about being anti-fascist (“I am Antifa”).
There’s more. Here’s the exchange after Billy says he calls for an embargo on all Russian oil. Once again, the hypocrite can’t make up his mind what side he’s on. I pointed out (correctly) that Billy and his band of dirt-dumb nitwits would be the first to scream about “rising gas prices” if there was an embargo against Russian oil and energy. I told Billy to “pick a side.” He can’t have it both ways:
Billy Tauzin is everything that’s wrong with corrupt Louisiana politics, shady Washington politics, and the twisted misuse of power in America. He got filthy rich on the backs of working-class people, and he continues to lie shamelessly.
Postscript: Unfortunately, there won’t be any more verbal bouts or debate jousts with “Big Pharma Billy.” He blocked me on Facebook.
