HERE’S WHY MANY OF TRUMP’S CABINET PICKS DESERVE *INSTANT* DISQUALIFICATION:

Abuse of power is a danger only if there are willing henchmen to carry out the orders.

This is my take on the confirmation hearings happening this week in the U.S. Senate. Many of President-elect Trump’s cabinet nominees are testifying under oath in an effort to win majority approval and ultimate confirmation, a process mandated by the Constitution. I presume most nominees will be approved — and therein lies the danger.

Almost without exception, a huge red flag has emerged. When each nominee has been asked a very simple and direct question — “DID TRUMP LOSE THE 2020 ELECTION?” — the nominees have refused to answer that question with the obvious answer, which is “YES.”

I watched the presumptive Secretary of Defense (yesterday) and presumptive Attorney General (today) nominees both asked this easy YES/NO question. It requires nothing but honesty–and a backbone. When testifying, their evasiveness was on full display. They would not say — YES. Both nominees FAILED the test. Even now, four years after THE FACT, they refuse to say and/or acknowledge TRUMP LOST THE 2020 ELECTION.

Why does this matter? What’s the point of “old news?” Well, first — it’s a FACT, that indeed, TRUMP LOST THE 2020 ELECTION. I have a real problem with individuals being granted immense powers under the law while REFUSING TO ACKNOWLEDGE simple FACTS. That alone should be an instant disqualification. After all, the point of the entire confirmation process and testimony provided in a *question and answer* format is to determine the suitability of nominees. If a nominee fails this test of suitability, for ANY reason, they should be rejected.

Let’s be clear. This question has become A LITMUS TEST OF LOYALTY for Trump. It’s been his OBSESSION. Most of the country moved on after Nov. 2020. Yet, Trump and his supporters clung onto lies–and still spew them. His 2024 cabinet picks reflect this willingness to march into a new presidency with blind loyalty.

This should be so easy. Any nominee upholding the Constitution should provide an easy, instant, and obvious answer — YES, TRUMP LOST THE 2020 ELECTION! By refusing to do this when put to the test in live testimony, each of these nominees is DEMONSTRATING that they do (and will) prioritize loyalty to PRESIDENT TRUMP. Once that happens, we no longer have a Constitutional system of government. We have something much darker and potentially more dangerous.

The failure of most cabinet picks to acknowledge legitimacy and historical fact and refuse to answer such a simple question, long after the facts are settled is clear evidence of FEAR. It reveals these gutless nominees will NOT act in reverence to the U.S. Constitution, but rather will take orders from ONE MAN and be puppet stringed to the whims of the occupant of the White House. Yes, these are dangerous times.

In the next few days until confirmations happen, Senators will bring up other issues and raise concerns — some valid, others irrelevant. But what really matters is the independence and courage to follow the Constitution, which always takes precedent over any political considerations.
