Jerry Jones: Rich Man, Poor Man
Jerry Jones is a genius when it comes to making money, one of the richest men in sports. But he’s done a piss-poor job in just about every major football decision.
CONGRATS COWBOYS: 25 YEARS / 3 PLAYOFF WINS
Since the Jimmy Johnson era (when the team was coached and built by Johnson entirely through the NFL Draft), it’s been a QUARTER CENTURY since the Dallas Cowboys appeared in a Super Bowl.
Err, make that a CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP game. Hell, even Jacksonville has done that! The Atlanta Falcons have appeared in 4! Dallas — 0. But hey, enjoy those Bob Lilly highlights from ’71.
THREE playoff wins in 25 freakin’ years. Impressive! You’re right there with the Detroit Lions.
I’ve been saying this since ’96. Jerry Jones and his cobblestone-headed sons need to get the hell out of football operations. Better yet, sell the team. It’s the Beverly Hillbillies of football. Swimming pools. Movie stars. And Jed Clampett. The revolving door of incompetent head coaches (7 since Johnson), mediocre assistants, and assorted polyester yes-men — ENTIRELY of Jerry Jones choosing, has been a DISASTER.
The Cowboys don’t merely lose close playoff games or get “unlucky.” No, they get stomped, often by inferior teams. They get outcoached and outplayed. Today, they fell behind by 16 at home to a team that barely made the playoffs. Quit pretending today’s game was close because it wasn’t. If San Francisco didn’t commit two late turnovers, the Cowboys would have lost by two touchdowns.
Cowboys fans are notorious for being hand-sitting half-witted fluffers. They’ll swallow any inferior product, buy 90,000 tickets a week, and pom-pom their team while Jerry lights hundred-dollar bills on fire. Jerry Jones is a genius when it comes to making money, one of the richest men in sports. But he’s done a piss-poor job in just about every major football decision.
Oh, and please stop with the Kellen Moore as the “hot young assistant coach” bullshit. The last time Dallas has a hot young ex-backup QB-turned offensive coordinator he turned into Jason Garrett and 8 wasted seasons of lameness.
Jerry Jones, and the fans for blindly following this dysfunctional franchise, OWN THIS. The losses are YOURS. So long as JJ and the Cobblestone Sons. are hiring puppet-stringed “yes” men and running football operations, they’ll be counting your money and laughing all the way to the bank.
