It’s Official: Call Them the Texas Taliban

 

 

 

THE TEXAS TALIBAN:  THEY’VE MADE IT OFFICIAL — THE REPUBLICAN PARTY IS NOW A CULT OF CRAZIES, ASSAULT WEAPONS, VIOLENCE, HATE, DIVISION, AND TREASON

The Republican Party is marching backward into a madhouse.

They are headed into the Dark Ages.

Did you see what just happened in Houston this past weekend?  It’s official, now.  There’s no more ambiguity.  It’s no longer just fear and hyperbolic exaggeration to call Republicans crazy fascists.  It’s a DONE DEAL.

The Republican Party is now a crackpot crazy cult of wild conspiracies, gun-toting violence, unmistakable hate, paranoia, fear — yes, and now even treason.

And, they are proud of it.

This past weekend, the Texas Republican Party met in a Houston convention hall and by the thousands made it official. In one of the most repulsive displays of radicalism seen since the Ku Klux Klan marched in American streets in the 1920s, every crank resolution and wild-eyed plank passed according to a vote by the 5.000-member delegation. Enthusiastically so.

No, these are not merely a few crackpot “extremists,” anymore. This is MAINSTREAM Republican thinking, now. The old Republican Party of Eisenhower and Rockefeller and Goldwater and Reagan isn’t just dead–but incinerated. Republicans are not even recognizable anymore. And, we should all be as frightened as hell of them, especially if you happen to be one of the few traditional conservatives and respectable Republicans left in this country who remembers the days before these lunatics seized control.

Let’s look at what these secessionists and seditionists have done. Included in the 2022 Texas Republican Party platform, an unequivocal, unapologetic, and vulgar 40-page document which passed at the convention, are the following shocking displays of ugliness. Each line below is QUOTED DIRECTLY from the platform:

“We reject the certified results of the 2020 presidential election, and we hold that acting President Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. was not legitimately elected by the people of the United States.”

“Texas retains the right to secede from the United States, and the Texas Legislature should be called upon to pass a referendum consistent thereto….for the people of Texas to determine whether or not the State of Texas should reassert its status as an independent nation.”

“The 1965 Voting Rights Act law and its updated forms should be “be repealed and not reauthorized.”

“All gun control is a violation of the Second Amendment and our God-given rights.” (Note: This stance includes the repeal of the Gun Control Act of 1968, which prevents felons and other dangerous people from being able to purchase a gun legally)

“Texas students should learn about the Humanity of the Preborn Child (and be taught) life begins at fertilization.”

The Republican platform takes aim at gay Americans as well with the statement that homosexuality is “an abnormal lifestyle choice.”

Yes, it’s official.

It’s no longer “name-calling” to refer to Republicans in the most disparaging manner possible. One of the largest Republican organizations in the United States, the Texas Republican Party are:

SEDITIONISTS
RACISTS
GUN NUTS
HOMOPHOBES

This isn’t debatable. There’s no way to run from facts. They are who they say they are. It’s official. They’ve made treason, hate, and violence official. The Republican Party is the Texas Taliban.
