Here’s what happens when all those pesky “government regulations” that protect transportation, railways, towns, and public safety get gutted.
Trains crash. Deadly toxins get blasted into the air. Drinking water gets contaminated. People die.
Nice going, conservatives! Well done, free-market capitalists! Take a bow, libertarians! Now, it’s THE GOVERNMENT that has to clean up your mess. It’s us. It’s the taxpayer that will be forced to bear the heavy burden of greed and negligence. It’s everyone that now must put out the fire and clean up the deadly shitpile left by a for-profit company that cut corners on safety, slashed essential personnel, and maximized profits. Hey, shareholders nice going! Talk about blood money.
I’m so goddamned sick of the “cut government regulations” loons that I could scream. Next time that bullshit farce gets raised in a political debate, show this video. Shame them. Force them to swallow the pill of reality that’s going to cost billions. Every one of those innocent people whose lives have been upended in East Palestine, Ohio who are now justifyingly, blisteringly angry need to properly channel their anger. And the train breaking system that was designed during the Civil war, yes that Civil War!, couldn’t possibly stop the mega-force of a 2-mile-long train carrying thousands of gallons of deadly poison and toxins. So long as the shareholders are happy making a few bucks, demonize the liberals.
Seriously, do you think corporations and greedy shareholders are going to “self-regulate” and want to “protect public safety” and the environment? Get real. Call them what they are — skull fuckers.
Every single one of you who is angry about trains crashing, people dying, poisoning water, blowing deadly toxins into the air is going to end up paying the price for a negligent political and economic system. Let’s point the finger where it rightly belongs — on the clown show crowd that wants to slash regulations, the Trump administration who caused this to happen, and the poisonous political philosophy that will now force those of us who understand the proper balance to bear the entire burden of the cleanup.
Oh, and the train company didn’t even have the courtesy to send a representative to the town hall meeting last night to explain what happened. Stop believing these conservative poisonous talking points. They are fucking killing people. And now you and I as taxpayers will have to scrub away their sins.
