Biden’s Ultimate Revenge: Timing is Everything

Should President Biden withdraw from the race, he should make his *official announcement* right smack on top of the crescendo of the 2024 Republican National Convention.
I don’t profess to have any special insider information on the question as to whether President Biden will continue in the race, or will withdraw at some point.
However, *if* President Biden discontinues his campaign, then timing is everything. Such a big decision — artfully crafted and shared at the optimal time with the American people — would present an exceptional opportunity to seize the moment, freeze the opposition, steal the spotlight, and put a bold exclamation point on history.
Should Biden withdraw, he should make his *official announcement* right smack on top of the crescendo of the 2024 Republican National Convention, which starts next week in Milwaukee. Moreover, Biden should address the nation while sitting at his desk in an official capacity (think of the famous LBJ clip, back in 1968). “I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of my party for another term as your president.”
Even better — make the moment really count. Full impact. Take no prisoners. Go “live” right at the precise second when the presumptive nominee Donald Trump takes the stage and delivers his acceptance speech. Instantly, all the major networks break away — his audience suddenly cut in half — leaving the attention-starved narcissist barking to a convention hall of crazed half-witted sycophants. That would be the ultimate payback to the buffoon who attempted to overturn a presidential election and overthrow the government, someone who never gave President Biden even a token gesture of support nor participated in the peaceful transition of power as has been a 200+ year tradition. Biden going on air to address the nation, presumably next Thursday night (one week from now), would make Trump seem petty and inconsequential. Even better–Trump would be delivering a DEAD acceptance speech, filled with attacks on a man who isn’t even running.
Indeed, let the Republican convention cult spend an entire week ceaselessly attacking Biden, and then bam!–pull the rug. Whoops! It also sets up a remarkably exciting “OPEN” Democratic National Convention to follow, unlike the Republican blind coronation of an idiot wanna’-be dictator. That sets up a perfect contrast, something that will energize the Democratic base of voters and appeal to both independents and undecideds. It’s a winning strategy, and timing makes this possible. In poker, this is like playing position, being last to act. Democrats should (and must) take full advantage.
By withdrawing next week, President Biden has an extraordinary opportunity to pass the torch with dignity and preserve a positive legacy. Take all the time he needs to list accomplishments. Share a vision for the future–even though Democrats will field a new candidate. He would also be remembered as going out as a fighter. Flooding the media cycle with a bold game-changing announcement is the ultimate *bitch-slap* to a convicted felon, an insurrectionist, and pathological liar who has no business running for any elected office.
Traditionally, candidates and political parties have respected time frames and followed accepted practices out of respect for the public’s right to be informed. However, Trump has shattered all of these rules. He refused to appear at Biden inauguration in 2020 and even attempted to give a rambling speech simultaneously, breaking all norms. He doesn’t deserve the respect of anyone, let alone Biden, the White House, or the Democratic Party. It’s payback time.
This is not just the usual election. This is not a normal campaign. This is not the time to play nice. This is the time to think big. This is the time to do what it takes to win.

Excellent narrative !
Thought of that as well, but you eloquently capture the thought.
I don’t understand why you are not working as a political consultant, advisor, or ….. Chief of Staff 🙂
Any thoughts on VP Harris stepping up. Seems to be only one with country-wide name recognition. Might have women vote, African-American vote. I think she is better than she has shown as VP and taking off the reins would give her a chance to impress…
Cheers,
Daniel
Boy, I love this!
