Why Do Foreign Leaders Subject Themselves to the Trump Media Circus?

WHY DO FOREIGN LEADERS SUBJECT THEMSELVES TO THE TRUMP MEDIA CIRCUS?
I don’t get it.
Each and every time Trump welcomes another foreign leader into the White House, it’s accompanied by a lengthy (and very often lively) press gathering, which consists of questions and answers. But in reality, it’s almost all Trump rambling. THE ENTIRE TIME. Recently, someone timed these circus sideshows. The calculation was that Trump talks *87 percent* of the time. That’s pretty shocking given most of the cabinet and his advisors are also in the room, in addition to the leader of the foreign country. It’s like listening to a chain saw rip through a forest of dead trees.
These staged events consist almost entirely of sycophantic reporters and fawning MAGA ass kissers, buttering up the orangeman like state fair corn, lobbing softball questions that even an idiot could answer, predictably triggering the delusional maniac to launch into his latest bitch-fest about *whatever* this or grievance against *whomever” that. They’ve become sick political stunts, bizarre parody skits, sideshow spectacles, swarming with so many lies that it’s impossible to fact-check in real time. Like swatting wasps. And forget about staying on a topic, unless the topic is Trump.
What I don’t understand is why FOREIGN LEADERS sit there like stage props and subject themselves to such pettiness? I’ve watched more than a dozen of these propaganda jamborees. Whoever it is, the other leader NEVER gets much of a word in edgewise. One would expect the OTHER leader to take questions, and be engaged in the “press conference” also, perhaps not given equal time, but something on par with the special occasion. Instead, these fawns sit there like tree stumps, while Trump blathers on and on and on and on about Biden, invents preposterous statistics, attacks governors, and launches into 6 and 7 minute pointless meandering tirades with distorted versions of current events and even worse takes on history.
Try to understand the occasion and comprehend the moment. These are leaders of other nations representing their countries. It’s abusive. It’s predictable. It happens EVERY time. So, why then do they take it? Why even bother to show up, unless it’s to see if the Liberace-looking Oval Office is actually real or not? Should the leader of South Korea sit there next to Trump while he spews his garbage about the “rigged” 2020 election, or lies about mail-in ballots, or a long list of other absurdities? Earlier today, Trump rambled on about prosecuting and imprisoning people who burn the American flag. Why is this happening with a foreign leader in the room? Shouldn’t the appropriate focus be on THE GUEST and issues relating to the visit?
It’s sad, really. These foreign leaders look like blow up dolls, cheap plastic receptacles of Trump’s constant overflowing anger about whatever bug’s crawling up his ass on that given day. Sure, if Trump wants to host a press conference and ramble on like a street corner grifter on the street wearing a sandwich board on his own time flanked by his flunkies, that’s his prerogative. But these are bilateral meetings and supposedly international partnerships. I really don’t think South Korea’s president should be involved in Trump’s tirade on flag burning, past elections, or evidence he’s involved in protecting pedophiles. Seems beneath the office to me.
Note to All Foreign Leaders: When you come to the White House and do this, you look weak. In fact, you look pathetic. Subjecting yourselves and your nations to these shit show spectacles of Trump’s endless grievances and revenge missions disrespects international diplomacy. It’s an affront to mutual respect between nations.
Moreover, his constant obsessions with Biden and Obama — who always come up in these press events — have become stalker-like. It’s like showing up at a dinner party, and the host ignores the other guests while complaining about his exes the whole time. Most people would call that RUDE. Shoe on Other Foot: What would the reaction be if Trump visited South Korea and President Lee Jae Myung spent 51 minutes of a one hour press conference rambling on about his enemies and deflecting his numerous scandals. I would call that DISRESPECTFUL.
Please. Stop doing this. It’s a really bad look.
