The Fart of the Deal / The Art of the Steal

THE FART OF THE DEAL AND THE ART OF THE STEAL

Stop calling it a “historic summit.”

There was nothing “historic” about any of it, other than the world witnessing the shameful spectacle of two power-mad dictators — one wickedly intelligent, coldly calculating, and consistent….the other woefully inept, simpleminded, and unstable — staging a pitiful photo op and quickie “press conference” on a American soil.

I’ve seen more substance come out of 15-minute meetings at my local Starbucks, even when they got my order wrong.

This time-wasting meet-and-greet produced utterly NOTHING of substance, all despite Trump’s many promises and assurances (more lies) that have characterized his babbling existence from the start — always boasting about his supreme intelligence and crafty negotiating skills. His dismal record is clear. Let’s remember, the wishy-washy felonious fool has repeatedly squawked about having a “special relationship” (his words) with a murderous Russian thug (yeah, I’ll bet it’s “special”). More like a fanboy. He repeatedly promised so many times we got sick of hearing it that he’d end the Ukraine-Russia conflict on *Day One*–it’s now Day 205….and counting……

Diplomacy 101: Before hosting a successful summit, the “deal” should already be done. Where’s Little Marco? Who knows? Maybe he’s got the concept of a plan. Foreign policy isn’t a slimy real estate transaction, though Trump does seemed determined to turn America into Atlantic City.

The embarrassment of a disgraced and distracted perpetually scandal-plagued American President granting Vladimir Putin a huge propaganda victory and welcoming a war criminal in front of the entire world is nearly as shameful as subverting himself and our nation to his own narcissistic whims and sick obsessions–all incessant delusions of grandeur. Once again, TACO has reversed himself on “threats” made against Russia. Yo Yo trade “deals” that never materialize, invisible phone calls, and overblown or non-existent “peace treaties” have become a running joke, only they’re not funny to anyone other than Putin and America’s dangerous enemies. Trump’s *word* — all the pledges violated, promises broken at every juncture of his life, people he’s thrown under the bus and run over — means absolute shit. Why would anyone trust ANYTHING he says given his abysmal record of chronic dishonesty and disloyalty?

This failed Starbucks planes-as-props coffee meet-up was a complete waste of everyone’s time, energy, and attention. It was — a distraction.

Oh yeah, since your dog and pony show is over — release the Epstein-Trump Files.

Now!

Here’s a similar take on the disaster “summit”:

I must admit: Trump managed to underperform even my lowest expectations. I didn’t think he could let himself be humiliated this badly. Normally, before staging a summit, you’d expect at least a token outcome, something to sell as a victory. Not this time. What we saw was a flustered Trump retreating into his usual blatant lies. He even told Fox News the meeting was “10 out of 10”—a statement so absurd it bordered on self-parody.

The spectacle was pitiful: Trump clapping for Putin on the tarmac as if he were a hero, then inviting him to sit in the presidential limousine—a gesture without precedent, and without dignity. All this while he treats a democratic leader like Zelensky with disdain, dismissing him as someone who “doesn’t have the cards.” It perfectly reveals Trump’s mindset: contempt for democratic allies, deference to dictators.

Putin, a KGB man to the core, knows how to exploit these weaknesses. His craft is manipulation, psychology as a weapon. And with Trump he barely has to try. A couple of flattering lies—’If Trump had been president, Russia wouldn’t have invaded Ukraine,’ or ‘Trump won the 2020 election against Biden.’ Lies so crude they amount to insults. But Putin knows they work. It’s like tossing a fish to a trained seal: Trump claps on command.

The summit itself produced nothing: no cease-fire, no step toward peace, no breakthrough of any kind. Yet for Putin it was a triumph. He got the stage he wanted—welcomed with applause and respect by the President of the United States, photographed as an equal, treated better than a NATO ally.

Trump once again proved what he is: shallow, hollow, devoid of values. The principles of the Enlightenment, individual liberty, human rights, the very core of Western ideals mean nothing to him. He cares only about himself. A malignant narcissist addicted to applause, dressing up his emptiness in a suit and tie.

Putin, on the other hand, embodies the KGB legacy of manipulation and ruthless power. In Anchorage, he showed it again—using Trump as a prop, draining him of substance, and walking away without conceding a thing.

The world saw an America diminished, led by a man who humiliates friends and bows to enemies. That applause for Putin will remain as the symbol of Trump’s political and moral bankruptcy.

  1. Great write up. Appreciate it.
Disappointing as well after the meeting on Monday….
Hate it when everyone kowtows to Trump.
