Binion’s Horseshoe Memorabilia
Here’s one of the coolest, most unusual gifts I’ve ever received. It’s a matchbook. But not just any matchbook. Let me explain.
As most of you know I was an executive at Binion’s Horseshoe in its final days when it was owned by the Binion family.
The old “Horseshoe” was created by legendary Benny Binion. But, Benny the outlaw did things his way, and he ended up serving time in federal prison for tax evasion. So, for several years the legendary Binion name was removed from the signage, and a fellow Texan “Joe W. Brown” assumed control and owned the casino license (wink, wink).
Anyway, all Horseshoe memorabilia was rebranded between 1953 and 1957 as “Joe W. Brown’s Horseshoe Club” — including this rare pack of matches.
Sincere thanks to Jesse Fullen for the kindest thought and gesture in giving me this rare keepsake. He gave this to me last night while we were watching a ballgame.

Hi my friend acquired A Benny Bunion plaque and obituary cards and other things from his wake. I’m trying to find a collector or someone interested. I’ve tried the casinos and museums. Please help if you can thx.
