I’m heartbroken and I’m angry. No–I’m fucking furious!
Someone here in our area of The Lakes-Las Vegas shot a peacock with an arrow. It’s name was “Pete.” Some nice people took it to the vet and tried to save it. But Pete died.
What a lowlife fuckstain to do something like this. A beautiful animal that was part of our community doing no harm, fed by everyone, and trusting of people. And some sadistic slimeball murdered it just for kicks.
Some kids were reported in the area shooting sparrows with BB guns a few weeks ago. I wonder. What sick parents allow their children to kill helpless songbirds? What cruel message does this send to youth? I loathe hunters and hunting, but killing purely for “joy” or “entertainment” is a different depth of depravity that I cannot fathom.
I do not know if the incidents of senseless slaughter are related, but I hope these sadists are caught and punished. If you see ANY incidents like this, find out where they live and REPORT THEM to authorities. If you see anyone with a bow and arrow around, especially in park areas, beware of this sick individual.
I’m fucking livid over this.
