Sheldon Adelson Becomes Dr. Strangelove

dr.-strangelove

Las Vegas’ village idiot is at it again.

Normally, the rantings of a crazy buffoon wouldn’t be newsworthy.  But in this case, the village idiot happens to be a rich man worth billions.  He also runs a vast gambling empire.  So, that gives him special perks and privileges.  People listen to his rants and even write down what he has to say, no matter how illogical or inflammatory.

In case you missed the latest, Sheldon Adelson wants the United States to attack Iran.  Wait, it gets worse.  With a nuclear weapon!

He’s not joking.

Right, Sheltie.  Just what we need, another bloody and costly military conflict and the potential start of World War III, not to mention one of the most immoral crimes in the history of humanity.  Have a nice day.

Let’s put this into some perspective, shall we?  The same hypocrite who makes billions from his gambling yet stonewalls online poker….the same curmudgeon who bankrolled right-winger Newt Gingrinch with $100 million in campaign money the last time out to an embarrassing finish in the Republican primaries…..the same saber-rattling antagonist who is a duel loyalist to another country (Israel) — he’s now giving out foreign policy and military advice.

Excuse me while I try to tune this joker out.  Unfortunately, the rest of the world seems to care what he has to say.  Here’s what the blathering bobblehead said at a recent gathering in New York:

What are we going to negotiate about?  I would say “Listen, you see that desert out there, I want to show you something.” … You pick up your cell phone and you call somewhere in Nebraska and you say, “OK let it go.” And so there’s an atomic weapon, goes over ballistic missiles, the middle of the desert, that doesn’t hurt a soul.  Maybe a couple of rattlesnakes, and scorpions, or whatever.  Then you say, “See!  The next one is in the middle of Tehran.  So, we mean business.  You want to be wiped out?  Go ahead and take a tough position and continue with your nuclear development.

— Sheldon Adelson speaking at Yeshiva University, October 23, 2013

After this all sinks in for a bit, let’s call Adelson out for what he really is — a crackpot.

Perhaps he’d like to push the launch button himself, sort of like riding in the squad car and wearing a tin badge.  That would be a sure-fire way for “Dr. Strangelove” to pop his jollies.  Who knows?  Maybe Adelson imagines himself as Slim Pickens, riding the nuclear bomb down to the ground in an ecstatic frenzy.

Right on, Sheldon.  That’ll teach ém.  Threaten to bomb Tehran and murder millions of innocents.  That will work.  That will bring peace.

What a tool.

Here’s a question:  What’s the difference between a rich sociopath and a poor sociopath?

Answer:  We call the poor lunatics “crazy.”  We call the rich lunatics ëccentric.”

  1. One thing you can say about Adelson is that he is consistent about his unwavering support of any position that COULD (in his mind) be favorable towards Israel. You always know where he stands on that issue. I just think it is a tiny overboard (lol!) to fire a warning shot using a nuclear weapon. On the other hand, I do not believe a trust but verify approach is appropriate with Iran either. Forget the trust, just be sure to verify.

  2. ACA is not a health plan, it is NOT insurance, it does NOT “care” for you it is a tax program just like mortgage deductions and EIC – it sets up exchange for ins companies to make profit, it provides subsidies, and rules for coverage that you can make a choice, it is WORKING and people are signing up, and if GOPtards had not obstructed, would already be running smoothly

    • I did not claim working and not working, if you are that stupid, no more discussion will ensue

ACA is NOT a website, ACA works great, one can sign up by phone or paper,
and if states exchanges were not blocked , web signup would be a piece of cake , website does not take MONEY! GD MORON

  3. Great post Nolan. Lost in all this is how despicable US propaganda is when it comes to the beautiful, peaceloving nation of Iran. A country 2500 years old, with 77 million people that has not attacked another nation in over 100 years.

Now let’s look at the terrorist nation of Israel, with it’s sociopathic far right government. They terrorize Palestinians, bomb Syria, and also try to coerce the US to bomb Syria. And we plan on giving Israel $33 billion over the next decade??

Israel is the problem, and jackasses like Adelson need to shut the fuck up. Boycott the Venetian, boycott Israel.

    • Fables of children and land mines cant hide fact IRAQ invaded IRAN!

    • So, when Iran sponsors terrorist attacks across the world, and sponsors terrorist armies like hezbollah and hamas who have stated goals of genocide,

that doesn’t count as attacks on other countries?

going to preach something about those murderers being “freedom fighters” and “defending their lands” by blowing up buses and market places?
