Dear Friends:
When you look at me and observe my NFL plays, what do you see?
The answer is obvious: Balls of iron.
Do I pack my winning percentages and profit, and then rest of my laurels?
No!
Do I build up an impressive record, and then bench my opinions, just so I can lock up a winning season?
No!
Do I lay it on the line and back my picks with polished brass?
Hell, yes!
So, let’s get to work and start the merry sleigh ride.
Gather around, little children. I’m giving away plenty of presents. as long as you’ve been good. The bad kiddies won’t get shit. Never mind Santa’s ride last week when I went 2-8-1 against the number. Let’s forget about that and move on. Even Santa has his moments of indigestion.
So, leave out the milk and cookies (I like mine spiced with a little rum) because Santa’s coming down your chimney loaded with picks. Guaranteed winners. You can either welcome the jolly man in the red suit bearing gifts for the kiddies, or follow those pretenders out of the newspaper. Or worse, pay for picks following some scam artist.
At least with my plays you not only make money (up 36 percent on the season baby! — despite last week’s crapper!), or lock up the house and shiver in the cold.
You decide what you’re going to be doing Christmas Day, stuffing your ass with a 20-pound turkey or choking down Burger King.
Ho! Ho! Ho!
Merry Christmas! Time to kick some fucking ass!
Love and Good Cheer,
Santa Claus

THIS WEEK’S PLAYS: This week, there are 14 plays.
Buffalo +1.5 vs. Miami — $330 to win $300
First Half Buffalo +.5 (-115) — $345 to win $300
Bad spot for Miami traveling north following two big home wins, including upset over rival New England last week. Buffalo playing its first game in home stadium in more than a month, where they’ve been a money team. Looks like a solid reason to back the home dog.
New Orleans +3.5 vs. Carolina — $440 to win $400
Normally a game where I would pass, but the entire gambling world seems to be on Carolina in this game. I understand the reasons. But something tells me the Saints are getting sick and tired of hearing all the trash talk about not being able to win on the road (they’re actually 3-4). The hook on the 3 compels me to go contrarian and bet the dog here. Looking for a close game where the points will matter. Also, not sure Carolina has the kind of offense that wins big.
Tampa /St. Louis OVER 43 — $330 to win $300
Two losing teams playing in a dome often opens up the offensive game plans and ignites scoring. Just a general trend I’ve noticed over the years. One of the lowest totals on the board this week. I’ll look for points to be scored.
Indianapolis +7 vs. Kansas City — $440 to win $400
First Half Team Total Indianapolis OVER 10 — $330 to win $300
Chiefs have enjoyed two cake walks the last two weeks and now lay heavy price, this time against a winning team and likely division winner. Colts may have exercised demons last week. I look for a strong effort here, especially considering the Kansas City defense is giving up loads of yards and points.
Jacksonville +4.5 vs. Tennessee — $660 to win $600 <<<BEST BET>>>
First Half Jacksonville +3 (-120) — $480 to win $400
Jags should have won outright last week (they lost 27-20), and might have had it not been for two turnovers in the 2H on the goal line. Jags were without RB Jones-Drew and should get him back at least in part this game. Teams that lose the first of a two game home stand tend to perform better in the second game, and here we have a 5-9 team versus a 4-10 team. Looks like a toss up where taking generous points is the right side.
First Half Team Total Phoenix OVER 7.5 (-115) — $460 to win $400
Arizona has very quietly covered two months of games in a row. Something tells me they could sneak a win here, especially after getting destroyed in this same spot at Seattle last year (losing 56-0, or something like that). Total for the visiting dog (9-5) is simply too low here, given the points Arizona has been putting up during its win streak.
Pittsburgh/Green Bay OVER 44.5 — $550 to win $500
Inter-conference game tend to be higher scoring anyway, so I lean OVER. Add the Packers offensive resurgence last week and a home game where they are back in playoff contention. Yet at the same time, the Pack defense is horrid. We’ve seen situations this season where cold weather and even snow might actually help the offenses. So, I’ll go OVER this number, although I wish it was 44 instead of the annoying hook.

Teaser: Detroit -3 / Cincinnati -1.5 — $1,100 to win $1,000 <<<BEST BET>>>
I love wheeling Cincinnati this week, which is a perfect 7-0 at home. Coming off a bad loss, while Minnesota comes off a huge home win and now travels appears to be a very good motivation spot for the home favorite. Backing the Bengals teased down to a small number. Nice combination with the home Bills getting more than a touchdown, Jacksonville getting double digits, and the Lions playing at home off a loss against a team that’s given up on the season.
Teaser: Cleveland +7.5 / Cincinnati — $550 to win $500
I can’t help but toss in one last second sweetener. I’ll back the Browns getting more than a touchdown versus a Jets team that is having a terrible time scoring points. Browns defense is solid. Mandatory sugar on the Brownies along with the cats.
