CURRENT BANKROLL:  $10,000.

NET GAIN/LOSS:  + / – 0

BEST BETS OF THE WEEK:  0 – 0 – 0

Since the NFL season begins with a Thursday night game, I am not yet prepared to post a full write-up with this week’s games played on Sunday.  However, I do have two plays (relevant to tonight’s game) which I will release at this time.  Moreover, I am posting all five of my season win total wagers here for the first time.

Note that I begin every season with a $10,000 bankroll (after the season-win total bets are made).  Each week, I make plays based on the current lines which are released either Saturday or Sunday.

I have to move quickly today, since the Pittsburgh-New England game will start within the hour.  Down below are my offshore wagers.  I’m also holding some live tickets.

SEASON WIN TOTALS WAGERS:

Pittsburgh Steelers UNDER 8.5 (+115) — wagering $2,000 to win $2,300

See the reasoning for this wager in the next post (below)

Philadelphia Eagles UNDER 9.5 (-110) — wagering $1,050 to win $1,000

Too many questions on this team, with new QB who is injury prone, learning a complex offense, and some major question marks still on defense (one of the NFL’s worst last season).  PHILA had a tough time beating any teams with a winning record, and to win 10 games this season, they will have to do that.  I’ll fade high expectations again and look for 8 or 9 wins by the Eagles.

NY Jets UNDER 7.5 (-120 /-135) — wagering $1,275 to win $1,000

Asking this team with its QB problems and offensive limitations to win 8 games seems like too much, especially in a division where the other three teams all appear to be good — NWE, MIA, and BUF.  Chan Gailey running the offense now, has got to be a joke.  How in the hell is he still coaching?

Tennessee Titans OVER 5.5 (-150) — wagering $450 to win $300

Very weak division and easy schedule to a team that really struggled last season and had lots of injuries.  Looking for this to be team that gets it together more quickly with Mariota bringing in some real confidence for the first time in a while.  Should be able to get to 6-10 or better.

Cleveland Browns UNDER 6.5 (-170) — wagering $510 to win $300

I don’t like betting UNDER on two teams in the same division, but it’s hard to foresee a team with so many weaknesses going 7-9 or better.  I would bet more, but the -170 vig price makes be just bet a minimum amount here.  Still, looks to be a positive value wager.

PITT at NWE (-7) WAGERS:

2-team 6-point Teaser:  New England -1 with Tennessee +9 — wagering $1,100 to win $1,000

2 -team 6-point Teaser:  New England -1 with Atlanta +9 — wagering $1,100 to win $1,000

Looking for NWE to come out in decent form tonight, especially with motivation of the suspension looming over Brady, which always seems to bring out the revenge factor in Belichick-coached teams (recall how he ran up the score in games after “Spygate,” which was their 16-0 season).  I’ll add TENN in one part of the teaser, which should be competitive against an equally weak team the first week, in what’s expected to be a close, low-scoring game.  Give me + 9 there.  I’ll also take the talented Falcons at home on MNF who inexplicably are sizable dogs to a PHILA road favorite with lots of questions and new faces, on boths sides of the ball.  Gladly, I’ll take +9 here with the home dog, as well.

More to come….
