My Endorsement for Nevada’s Congressional District 1

TODAY’S PRIMARY VOTE IN NEVADA

Nevada is one of the states with primary elections today. If you vote in person, that means going to the polls.

In Congressional District 1, I urge all of my fellow progressives to support and vote for AMY VILELA.

The sitting incumbent is longtime Democratic politician Dina Titus. She won the election in 2012 and has been re-elected four times. Prior to serving in the U.S. House of Representatives, Rep. Titus was a member of the Nevada State Senate and was the Democratic caucus leader for 15 years. She’s generally correct on most issues, but also has NOT supported universal health care, meekly stating, “you’ve got to do it in a step-by-step process.”

Well, ten years isn’t what I call “step by step.” We need more than baby steps and empty talk when it comes to Medicare of All.

AMY VILELA served as Nevada co-chair of Sen. Bernie Sanders’ 2020 Presidential campaign. She is an activist progressive Democrat who supports Medicare for All and the Green New Deal. Vilela faces a strong primary opponent who is an experienced incumbent member of Congress. But for true progressives, Vilela is the clear and best choice for Nevada and the city of Las Vegas.

I encourage all of my fellow progressives to go to the polls today and vote for AMY VILELA.

Thank you.
