Yes, I understand that all former American presidents are entitled to Secret Service protection, and I fully agree with one vehicle and a few security escorts being provided at taxpayer expense. But — allowing this malignant creep to turn his own self-inflicted crimes into a media circus is a fucking disgrace. Why would any traffic lights or other cars on the highway be commanded to stop in their tracks for this document-peddling, pseudo-enemy agent, all on the taxpayer dime?
Equal justice under the law? Oh, really? 15 black SUVs? Motorcycle cops tying up 110 intersections and freezing traffic in downtown Miami on a busy workday? Hundreds of police on high alert? For a defendant charged with 37 felonies?
