Do they Teach History at the University of Florida?

The University of Florida Apparently Thinks Karl Marx was a Russian

That canker sore of festering imbecility otherwise known as the University of Florida, supposedly an institution of “higher learning,” just removed Karl Marx’s name from one of their library study areas because of — now get this — Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Seriously. This isn’t a joke. Must be humidity in the brain. The smallpox of academia run within a giant football factory.

Apparently, the University of Florida had a study area with different sections named for important philosophers. Sounds like a clever thing to do. Sort of like naming the Las Vegas parking garage floors for different casinos. That way, you know where you parked your car. No doubt, Marx is an important philosopher, whether you agree with his writings, or not (and the point of a university education should be to expose students to different philosophies).

What makes this so absurd is that Karl Marx wasn’t Russian. Marx was German. He lived and worked in Germany, France, Belgium, and later England. He wrote for a New York newspaper. He’s buried in London. Karl Marx NEVER lived nor worked in Russia. Nor is there any evidence he ever even visited Russia. Or Ukraine. He’s about as Russian as Benjamin Franklin.

Learn something about history, you idiots.
