Most readers know how much I despise memes, and here’s the perfect example of stupidity.
Yeah, I understand it’s meant as a joke. Ha fucking ha. But there’s an undercurrent of grotesque *ignorance* here that’s just jaw-dropping. See all that horrible snow? Gee, it sucks to be them, huh?
Well, next summer it’s going to be 115° degrees here in Las Vegas and we’re going to be rationing water again. We let the greedy developers and reckless capitalists plunder every inch of buildable space and expand way beyond the capacity to support urban sprawl under any sustainable system. Right now, the entire city is ripping out natural grass and filling our yards with dusty rock. Oh, and the air will be among the worst in the United States. Let your lungs enjoy that.
Meanwhile, those dumb people in Vermont get to experience four seasons. They have plenty of wildlife to enjoy. They truly understand the delicate balance of nature. Those people with snow today will have plenty of fresh cool drinking water tomorrow.
See, that’s what happens. Snow melts. It makes water.
But somehow I don’t think those nice people in Vermont, or wherever, are going to be posting annoying memes and ridiculing here us in the great American southwest who will be choking on our dust and are about to see Lake Mead become a giant salt flat.
Here’s a suggestion: Maybe a little more fucking *common sense* would be a good idea before chomping on the idiot meme biscuit.
