B.A.R.G.E. stands for “Big August Recreational Gambling Excursion,” a name sounding a bit pompous and pretty much like a weekend gambling junket, which I’m told is precisely what it once was when it first began 30 years ago. This year, three decades later, we’re all gathering again, the last week in July at the Westgate for the first time, and you’re invited! This is what poker should be — fun.
This will be my 25th BARGE. We all missed last year due to COVID, so this means I haven’t missed an event since 1996. Just to show how fun the event is — that’s not unusual. Going 25 BARGE events in a row is pretty standard if you were around back in the 1990s.
But we welcome newcomers, too.
I encourage anyone who loves Las Vegas, gambling, poker, and camaraderie to consider attending. This is what poker should be — fun, interesting, and social.
BARGE registration is now open. I will be held the last week in July. FULL SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
