“Poker Night in America” Coming to Peppermill Reno in November
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (MEDIA CAN RE-DISTRIBUTE)
“Poker Night in America” Television Show Announces Its Next Tournament Stop at Peppermill Reno
“Poker Night in America” is heading west.
The cutting-edge television show’s next stop will be the legendary Peppermill Reno Resort-Spa-Casino, which has been a center of gaming and entertainment in Northern Nevada for more than four decades. Fresh off a $400 million Tuscan-themed expansion this past year, Pepermill Reno is the perfect host for a new television series which expects to change the face of poker.
“Poker Night in America Presented by Peppermill Reno” (official name) will run November 15-24, with the Main Event expected to be played November 21-24. The exact tournament dates and buy-in amounts will be released shortly in a separate announcement. Peppermill Reno will provide special hotel rates for poker players who attend. More details will be announced soon.
“All of us at Peppermill Reno are happy and proud to be the host site for the first Poker Night in America celebrity cash game and tournament ever held in the west,” said George Kisler, Director of Casino Operations. “Peppermill Reno has a long tradition of offering some of the best cash games in Nevada in one of the most luxurious poker rooms in the country and we remain committed to hosting only the most exciting events in poker. Poker Night in America will bring some of the biggest names to Peppermill Reno for ten days of great tournament and live action games beginning on November 15th. We hope you will join us for the fun.”
This event follows Poker Night in America’s wildly-successful debut production, held last month at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY. Attendance for the main event in the Empire State Poker Classic which corresponded with the television production shattered the previous record. No doubt, similar enthusiasm is expected this time in Reno, as well.
Poker Night in America has already attracted many of the biggest names and most popular players in poker. At the previous stop held in New York, celebrity poker pros included — Mike “the Mouth” Matusow, Eli Elezra, Gavin Smith, Shaun Deeb, Shaun Buchanan, Tom Schneider, Matt Glanz, Phil Laak, David Williams, Layne Flack, and several others. A similar star-studded lineup is expected at Peppermill Reno, with some new faces, as well.
Poker Night in America Presented by Peppermill Reno will include lots of fun and excitement, most notably a tournament series as well as high-stakes cash game action, which will be filmed for television (delayed broadcast). Although the cash game is by invitation-only, anyone who wants to play will be considered. However, the cash game does have some requirements. Players must be willing to buy into the cash game (No-Limit Hold’em with blind levels at $25-50) with your own money. The buy-in ranges from $5,000 (minimum) to $20,000 (maximum). The cash game will be filmed over a two-day period, with specific dates to be announced soon.

“Thousands of people have seen video of some of the exciting things that happened last time Poker Night in America came to town,” said Todd Anderson, the show’s Executive Producer. “Next, we’re all looking forward to moving on to the Peppermill in Reno and creating more memorable moments for television.”
