9/11: Seventeen Years Later

Here’s an article on what the World Trade Center looked like before the attack.  We visited a few times and took these photographs, which are now painful to reflect upon.  I suppose that many of the people we met on those visits died on that terrible day.

I’ve also included some other articles I’ve written related to the tragedy.

REMEMBERING THE WORLD TRADE CENTER BEFORE 9/11

Here’s an article about what I witnessed at the Pentagon on 9/11.  We lived across the street from the Pentagon, which I could see from the balcony of my 9th-floor condo.  In fact, the blast woke me up that morning.

REMEMBERING SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 AT THE PENTAGON

My reaction to 9/11 wasn’t limited to the terrible events in NY, DC-VA, and PA.  Being involved in the poker business, I also had this to say about the reaction of the poker community to the tragedy.  I’m still on the fence as to what happened that day when a tournament was played as the nation was under attack.  These were my thoughts:

SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 — POKER’S MOST SHAMELESS DAY?

Finally, I was deeply moved by this 5-minute report on CBS Sunday Morning, which is a profile of the new monument dedicated today in Pennsylvania.  We sometimes forget about the terrible thing that happened to the people on that flight.  But they were brave.  Please watch this wonderful tribute to their bravery and their memory:
